Background
Escofier Technologie was founded in 1922 by Louis Escofier, a native of Le Creusot in Burgundy, who decided to make his fortune in Paris. Louis Escofier's passion was mechanical engineering and he was drawn to unusual machine tools. He bought a thread grinding machine and, having become familiar with rolling technology, designed new rolling machines. In 1945 he delivered his first 4 rolling machines to Renault.
In 1963, Escofier returned to its origins in Burgundy at Chalon sur Saone.
From 1978 and until 2006, Escofier Technologie has been a subsidiary of Vallourec group.
In 1990, Escofier took control of the company MEX, manufacturers of rolling tools, in the Haute Savoie region of France. This company merged with Escofier Technologie SA.
Today
Escofier Technologie simplified limited company, with a capital of 1.650.000 Euros, is an independent company, entirely devoted to cold rolling technology, a field in which it has developed unique worldwide expertise.
Its work is divided between:
the design and construction of a range of machine tools which apply this technology. These machines are exported throughout the world.
the manufacture of tools for these machines or similar machines, which are sold principally in Europe.
